How did you meet your husband?
Scott & I met back in 2010 at college in Mankato, MN. One of my good friends from high school asked me to go to a “jersey party” with her at her friends’ place. Of course I would never turn down a fun party, so I went with. I was wearing my infamous “Favre” shirt, a detail that Scott has never forgotten. We spent much of the night talking with each other and playing games. Scott eventually asked for my number, but not until a few days later. Little did I know, I would meet my future husband that night!
How did Scott propose?
After years of crushing on each other and dating for nearly four years, Scott decided to pop the question. We planned a summer getaway to a cabin in Mora, MN with two of our good friends. They knew the whole time what was going to happen, but I was just thinking it was another fun vacay with friends. The second evening there, we went out to dinner then came back for a bonfire and s’mores. My good friend, Becky, asked me to walk back to the cabin with her to help look for skewers (which we already decided we couldn’t find, but I went anyway). When I walked back down toward the beach, I found Scott waiting there with a ring, down on one knee. I stopped dead in my tracks and yelled, ‘YOU ARE NOT!” So romantic 😉 With Rocket Man playing and tears flowing, he asked me to marry him and of course I said YES.
What was your favorite part of your Wedding day?
Choosing a favorite part of our wedding day is incredibly difficult, as the day as a whole was perfect! One part of the day that was particularly special was spending the morning with my girls getting ready for the big day, and of course walking out to see my future husband for our first look. That was the moment when the nerves finally settled and I was truly able to soak it all in!
What advice would you give to future brides
My advice for future brides is to take the time during your ceremony to look out at all of your family and friends and get a glimpse of everyone who is there to celebrate and support YOU. It was truly a humbling moment for me and one I will never forget. Also make sure to spend a few moments away with just your husband so you can truly reflect on the day and take it all in. It is really easy to get caught up in the moment and forget to just breathe! Most of all, just have FUN – it’s your day!
